The description intrigued me and I gave this book a try. The story line was a bit different but the writing left much to be desired. The formatting was not good and the book was in need of a proofreader. Character development was severely lacking.What I did like was to see Emily stand up for herself as often as she did.
This was a difficult review to write. I liked the story but the overall writing just didn't do anything for me.

Really enjoyed the book! Loved how witty Emily was & how she stood up for what she wanted. I did not want to put the book down!
This charming tale has a feisty heroine that could give Elizabeth Bennett a run for her money. I enjoyed Emily's friendship with and love for her orphaned cousin, Rosalind. Together they overcame the obstacles that society and circumstances placed before them.
